Become a Vendor
Street Sense vendors can earn an income to gain economic independence while making their voices heard on the issues that affect them the most. We are the only newspaper focused on homelessness and poverty issues in Washington, DC. And we are the only newspaper produced by and for the people we serve, the homeless and impoverished in our nation’s capital. Our vendors make their own money and achieve real opportunities to succeed!
New vendors can begin earning money right away after attending one of our New Vendor Training sessions. These sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm at the Street Sense office located at 1317 G Street NW inside the Church of the Epiphany near Metro Center. The training sessions last about an hour and are required for all new vendors, and former vendors who have been away from the position for more than two months.
Street Sense vendors are independent contractors, managing their own sales business. They set their own hours and make their own decisions. Be your own boss—work when, where, and as much as you want. And all you have to do is obey 10 simple guidelines in the Vendor Code of Conduct.
